A spectacular art program commemorating the 70th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day will take place on October 10, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. at the My Dinh National Stadium. Expected to draw a crowd of 25,000 people, the event celebrates a pivotal moment in the city’s history, marking its liberation from colonialism.
Titled “Hanoi – The City of Peace – The City of Flying Dragon,” the artistic performance will feature a mesmerizing display of drone lights, high- and low-altitude fireworks, and pyrotechnics. According to a plan authorized by Chairman Tran Sy Thanh of the Hanoi People’s Committee, the event will be broadcast live on VTV, bringing the celebration into the homes of those unable to attend.

The drone light show, a highlight of the program, will see 2,024 drones painting the night sky with iconic images of Hanoi’s rich heritage. These include depictions of the Temple of Literature, Thang Long Bridge, Ngoc Son Temple, and the picturesque The Huc Bridge spanning Hoan Kiem Lake. This innovative display is sure to captivate audiences and ignite a sense of pride in Hanoi’s cultural landmarks.

Adding to the festivities, the Fl Racecourse area at My Dinh Stadium will be transformed into a canvas for a vibrant fireworks display. With 800 fireworks shells launched from 24 pyrotechnic racks, the night sky will be painted with brilliant colors, creating a memorable spectacle for all in attendance.
The organizers have also planned a range of complementary activities to enhance the celebrations. These include contests themed around Hanoi’s liberation, a film week, literary and art competitions, the Red River Delta Photo Festival, cultural events, sports tournaments, and festivals showcasing Hanoi’s rich cultural heritage, such as the Hanoi Autumn Festival and the Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival.
This diverse program promises to engage and entertain Hanoi’s citizens and visitors alike, offering a unique blend of artistic expression, cultural celebration, and memorable experiences to commemorate this significant anniversary.

NDO – The Hanoi book festival with the theme “Hanoi – City for Peace” opened at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long in Hanoi on October 2, as part of activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the capital’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954-2019).
