“The Hanoi Drama Theater Presents: ‘The Void'”

The Hanoi Drama Theater’s captivating production, The Void, will grace the stage as the opening act of the 2024 Hanoi Open Stage Festival. From November 1 to 9, theater enthusiasts can immerse themselves in this emotional tale at the Cong Nhan and Dai Nam playhouses and other theaters across Hanoi.

The Void delves into the turbulent and tragic love triangle experienced by intellectuals. It explores the complex dynamics of suppressed emotions, calculated happiness, and the preservation of reputation and tranquility within families. This powerful performance reflects the talent and passion of the actors and actresses, who are eager to share their art with the festival audience.

People’s Artist Trung Hieu, Director of the Hanoi Drama Theater, expressed his enthusiasm for the festival, highlighting its role in showcasing professional art troupes and celebrating the performing arts landscape of the capital. Additionally, Do Dinh Hong, Director of Hanoi’s Department of Culture and Sports, noted a new feature of this year’s festival: the inclusion of theaters from neighboring provinces and cities, presenting stage works dedicated to Hanoi.

The festival’s dramas offer a rich tapestry of social life, nation, and the Vietnamese people. The Organizing Committee will recognize plays that delve into the history, culture, and people of Hanoi, celebrating beauty and humanistic ideals while denouncing the ugly and evil. Artistic excellence and innovative expressions are at the heart of this festival, enhancing the cultural and artistic values of the capital and promoting its rich patriotic and revolutionary traditions.

The Hanoi Open Stage Festival 2024, organized by the Vietnam Theatre Artists Association, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, and related units, promises to be a cultural extravaganza. Hanoi audiences can enjoy free performances at various theaters, including the Dai Nam Theater, Cong Nhan Theater, Tuoi Tre Theater, Vietnam Puppetry Theater, and the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Water Puppet Performance Stage.
