Scheduled to take place from September 12 to 15, the festival will transform various locations in Hoan Kiem District and other parts of the city into a vibrant celebration of Hanoi’s cultural and historical essence. These include the flower garden of Ba Kieu Temple, Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Ly Thai To flower garden area, Le Thach Street, and several other districts.

This year’s festival holds a special significance as it commemorates the 70th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2024). It aims to promote the city’s beauty, historical and cultural values, and showcase its unique and fascinating landscapes, relics, and heritage sites. Hanoi, with its rich history and charm, is positioned as an attractive, quality, and safe tourist destination.

The opening ceremony and music gala, titled “Hanoi Autumn,” will take place on September 13 in the flower garden of Ba Kieu Temple. Additionally, approximately 150 booths will be set up along Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Le Thach Street, and the area of the Octagon House, offering a diverse range of attractions and activities.

One of the main attractions of the festival will be the areas dedicated to promoting Hanoi’s historical relics. These will include recreations of joyous scenes from Hanoi’s liberation in 1954, with flag- and flower-waving citizens welcoming the victorious army. Other themed areas include “Hanoi in 12 Flower Seasons,” showcasing the city’s floral beauty throughout the year, and an area dedicated to typical tourism products and destinations. Visitors can also explore handicraft village products and indulge in the “Flavors of Hanoi” culinary area.

The festival will also feature booths presenting tourism products from various Vietnamese provinces and cities, as well as international tourism agencies introducing cultural and tourist destinations from around the world. An area called “Hanoi – Youthful Rhythm of Life” will offer cultural and artistic experiences and entertainment for all ages.

Parades and performances by the Municipal Youth Union and Hanoi’s 30 districts and cities will add to the festive atmosphere, including lion and dragon dances, mid-autumn lantern parades, and traditional puppet shows. The festival will also showcase Hanoi’s culinary culture, folk and sports dance programs, an Ao Dai fashion show, children’s parades, painting activities, and art exhibitions. Several districts will promote their unique products and cultural and scenic spots through engaging stage performances and interactive booths.

According to Nguyen Manh Quyen, Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, this festival is the second event organized by the city government to showcase Hanoi’s tourism, culture, heritage, and natural beauty. It aims to contribute to the comprehensive development of the city’s tourism industry, both in terms of quantity and quality.
