Long Ho Suburb of Hanoi Now a Tourist Hotspot

Local authorities have promised to further support the growth of tourism in the area, through encouraging investment from citizens and businesses to create improved services and offerings for visitors.

Son Tay, a picturesque town on the outskirts of Hanoi, officially launched its tourism year on May 27 with the announcement of Long Ho’s recognition as a tourist destination. The announcement was made during a ceremony, which was attended by local and international dignitaries, and marked the beginning of the town’s journey towards becoming a renowned tourism destination. With its unique cultural and historic attractions, Son Tay is sure to become a popular tourist destination in the near future.

Long Ho is a popular destination for eco-tourism, spiritual tourism, and cultural experiences. Situated in Kim Son Commune, the area covers 90 hectares of natural land, boasting stunning views of Dong Mo Lake. Boasting a rustic charm, the spot is easily accessible and provides visitors with the perfect opportunity to explore the romantic lake and the other tourist attractions Ba Vi District has to offer.

Since 2020, the local authorities of Long Ho have worked closely with 14 tourism businesses to create various unique tourism models, resulting in the designation of Long Ho as an official tourist destination by the Hanoi People’s Committee. This collaboration has allowed Long Ho to become a renowned, must-visit destination for travelers.

The recognition of Long Ho as a tourist destination is expected to bring an influx of visitors to Son Tay, providing a much-needed boost to the local economy. With this in mind, the town’s authorities have committed to furthering their promotion and development of tourism, encouraging locals to invest in the sector and create higher quality products and services to better accommodate travelers.

Several popular tourist destinations in the area have recently been drawing in numerous visitors, including Asean, Quang Tay, Thao Vien Resort, Mit Village, Glory Resort, and Long Ho. These spots offer plenty of activities for people of all ages, from sightseeing and shopping to swimming and exploring the local culture. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing getaway or an adventure-filled vacation, these destinations have something for everyone. According to Ngo Dinh Ngu, Chairman of Son Tay People’s Committee, the town is a land with a rich and fascinating history, as well as stunning natural beauty. Visitors to Son Tay can explore its many famous landmarks, such as the Duong Lam Ancient Village, the Mia Pagoda, the Ngo Quyen Mausoleum, and the Cultural Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups. Additionally, those who visit can sample the local delicacies, such as Phu Nhi rice cakes, Mia rice, and Cam Lam sweet soup – a truly unique experience!

The town of X is known for its incredible cultural and culinary experiences, but it’s also blessed with stunning natural beauty. At the opening ceremony of the event on May 27th, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Nguyen Van Phong, highlighted the significance of acknowledging Long Ho as a new tourist destination and encouraged the locals to develop and promote tourism in the area. He remarked that it was necessary to make Long Ho an attractive destination for tourists from both within and outside the country. He also added that the locals should be proactive in creating a unique and diverse tourist experience for visitors to the region. Furthermore, he urged local authorities to take necessary measures to improve the infrastructure and services in the area in order to provide quality services to tourists.

He also urged the Hanoi Department of Tourism to support Son Tay in building diverse, attractive and innovative tourism products, connecting businesses with the town’s tourism sector, and developing intelligent tourism models that seamlessly integrate traditional cultural values with modern technologies.
