Themed ‘Cinematography – Integration – Sustainable Development’, the event will honour outstanding movies and promote cooperation between filmmakers for the development of the country’s cinematic industry.

This year’s festival will feature a world cinema panorama programme, a programme introducing the UK’s cinema industry, screening of contemporary Vietnamese films, and a HANIFF script-writing camp, together with exhibitions and seminars.

A wide range of awards will be presented at the end of the event, honouring best film, director, actor and actress.

The film festival was launched in 2010 by the MOCST’s Cinema Department and Hanoi’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

It aims to honour outstanding films of high artistic value and encourage new talents in Vietnamese cinema while providing a platform for Vietnamese and foreign movie artists to share professional expertise, thus bringing Vietnamese films to the world film market and promoting the land and culture of Vietnam among international friends.
