According to Hanoitourist Travel, a company participating in the fair, the best offers in the city are the Hanoi Old Quarter Experience and Hanoi Gastronomic Tours. Some typical Hanoi tours, such as the “French Architecture in the Heart of Hanoi” walking tour, the night tour of Thang Long Imperial Citadel and Hoa Lo Prison, and especially the “Legend of Bat Trang Ancient Village,” have drawn the interest of visitors to the fair.

Hanoi is one of 25 Vietnamese localities sending businesses to the fair. Representatives from the southern province of Binh Thuan, the host of the National Tourism Year 2023, also attended the WTM London 2022 intending to recover the inbound market.

Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Lan Ngoc said the WTM London 2022 is an opportunity for Binh Thuan to bring tourists and international partners to Binh Thuan by presenting the province as a green tourism destination, the theme of the Vietnam Tourism Year 2023.

Deputy General Director of Saigontourist Vo Anh Tai said that the WTM London 2022 created an opportunity for the travel group to promote the image of Vietnam’s tourism and approach and exploit the European and British markets with a focus on the high-end tourist segment.

Vice Chairman of the Bac Kan Tourism Association and director of MrLinh’s Adventures Travel Company, Nguyen Tuan Linh, said that by attending the fair, the company had promoted the potential and strengths of Bac Kan tourism, including Ba Be National Park.

“We are creating many new product lines, such as resort tourism, experience tours, and adventure trekking. We want to promote and introduce Vietnam’s new tourism potential to European tourists,” he added.

The event is a platform for Vietnamese tour groups to actively promoted the openness, safety, attractiveness, and quality of Vietnam’s tourism with the message “Live fully in Vietnam.” They also sought opportunities to expand business cooperation in the UK and European markets and researched market development trends.

According to the General Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Nguyen Trung Khanh, the Vietnamese tourism industry is likely to recover soon in the context of Vietnam being one of the ASEAN countries that fully reopens to international tourism with tourist-friendly policies.

European tourists have been the first to return to Vietnam after the pandemic, and their demand for information and travel bookings to the Southeast Asian country is also increasing.

In the first ten months of 2022, international visitors to Vietnam reached over 2 million, an increase of 18 times compared to the same period in 2021. Internet search volume about Vietnam in October was 11 times higher than in March [the reopening time]. Total tourism revenue was estimated at VND425 trillion.

After two years of cancelation, the WTM London 2022 took place at ExCel, London’s largest exhibition center, attracting about 5,000 tourism businesses from 182 countries and more than 51,000 visitors.
