Dragon Eye Island is not as crowded with tourists as other popular destinations in Ha Long Bay, but it is equally famous. It retains its wild and interesting features as it has only been opened for tourism in recent years.

Located in the south of Ha Long Bay, near Lan Ha Bay (Cat Ba, Hai Phong), Dragon Eye Island, also known as Bai Dong island, is a 30-hectare island with a unique bow shape. Surrounded by fine white sand, green primeval forest, and steep cliffs, it offers a mesmerizing scenery.

The main highlight of Dragon Eye Island is the green lake nestled between rocky mountains and primeval forests. Its unique shape, resembling a dragon’s head with a round lake that looks like a dragon’s eye when viewed from above, gives the island its name. The jade-green water of this “dragon’s eye” sets it apart from other parts of Ha Long Bay.

To reach Dragon Eye Lake, visitors can safely cross the forest road about 100 meters from the pier. The grandeur and unique structure of the lake are awe-inspiring from above, but up close, the clear, blue water and peaceful atmosphere bring a sense of tranquility and joy.

From the moment visitors arrive at Dragon Eye Island, they will be greeted with fresh air, soothing sounds, and vibrant colors. The calm sandy beaches, rhythmic waves, and clear blue seawater create a poetic atmosphere. The serene environment, complemented by the chirping of birds in the nearby groves and the gentle breeze, adds to the island’s wild and pristine beauty.

Dragon Eye Island offers a chance for visitors to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life. With no smoke or engine noise, it allows for a complete immersion in nature. Known as the “dragon pearl” in the heart of Ha Long Bay, this island provides a unique experience that should not be missed.
