Vietnamese Expats Compete in Football Tournament in UK

The Vietnamese Intellectual Society in the UK and Ireland (VIS UK & Ireland), the Vietnam Business Association in the UK (VBUK), and other organizations coordinated to hold the "VIS-VBUK Friendly Football Tournament - Kamito Cup 2022" on October 9.

The tournament was organized to celebrate the 77th anniversary of Viet Nam’s National Day and the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-UK diplomatic relations.

Through the tournament, the Organizing Committee wishes to create a healthy playground for the community, especially young overseas Vietnamese living, studying, and working in the UK.

Kamito Cup 2022 brought together four teams from Vietnamese Associations in the UK, including the Vietnamese Intellectual Society in the UK and Ireland (VIS UK and Ireland), the Vietnam Business Association in the UK (VBUK), the Vietnamese Student Association in the UK (SVUK), and the Vietnamese Association in the UK (VAUK).

Four teams played in a round-robin, selected two first and second teams to play in the final and the remaining two teams competed for third and fourth place. After the thrilling matches, the championship team belongs to the Vietnamese Association in the UK (VAUK). The second prize team belongs to the Vietnam Business Association in the UK (VBUK). The team that won the 3rd prize is the Vietnamese Student Association in the UK (SVUK).

The best player in the tournament is Mr. Quan of the VBUK team. The best goalkeeper of the tournament belongs to VAUK goalkeeper – Richard. The top scorer belongs to player Steven of the VAUK team.

The Vietnamese Intellectual Society in the United Kingdom and Ireland (VIS UK & Ireland), established in 2020, is a professional volunteer-based society of Vietnamese intellectuals, scientists and specialists working and living in the UK and Ireland. The Society aims to foster connection and collaboration among members and to contribute to the relationship growth between the UK and Vietnam in terms of economy and technology.

The Vietnam Business Association in the UK (VBUK) is an organization connecting the business community in the UK and Vietnam, supporting many businesses in the UK and Europe to associate and joint venture with domestic enterprises. VBUK also connects activities between the UK Department of Trade and business delegations from Vietnam to explore investment and business opportunities in the UK.
