An exhibition on the history of Vietnam-Laos ties entitled “Vietnam – Laos Ties: Perpetuity and Development” will be on display until September 9 at the National News Centre in Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.

This cultural event is aimed at celebrating the 60th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962 – 2022), the 45th year of the singing of the bilateral Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (July 18, 1977 – 2022) and the Vietnam – Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022.
The photo exhibition features 63 large-size photos and over 100 other pictures that were selected from the photo archive of Vietnam News Agency and Khaosan Pathet Lao (Lao News Agency).
These valuable photos are said to illustrate important milestones in Laos – Vietnam diplomatic relations. They also showcase the outstanding achievements that the two countries have attained during the past years; as well as the great affection between the people of the two nations.
General Director of Vietnam News Agency Vu Viet Trang said that this is a meaningful event, highlighting the relationship between Laos and Vietnam, which was built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and Lao heads of State Kaysone Phomvihane and Souphanouvong in the past century.

In a recorded video message sent to the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition. which took place on September 6, Pathet Lao News Agency General Director Khampheuy Philapha stressed that the exhibit reflected the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples.
The highlight of the exhibition is the photo of the meeting between President Ho Chi Minh and Lao’s Prince Souphanouvong in an anti-French resistance base in north Vietnam in 1948.
The intimate conversation between President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihan during the friendship visit to Vietnam in 1966 and pictures proving the brotherhood of the Lao-Vietnamese coalition soldiers are also displayed.
On show are also the image of the land and people of Laos and the important achievements that the Lao people have gained under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.
The photo exhibition is open to public from 8am to 5pm daily from September 6 to 9.

Sam Son sea festival slated for April 21
