ASEAN Tourism Awards is annually held to honor and make contribution to the sustainable development of tourism destinations, high-quality tourism products and services.
TRAVEX, the largest professional international travel fair in Southeast Asia, is the main activity within the ASEAN Tourism Forum.
The fair will draw a number of participants to introduce and sell tourism products in the region and world. Vietnam takes part in the fair with a pavilion themed “Live Fully in Vietnam” hosted by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), with the participation of a number of tourist destinations, travel companies, hotels and luxury resorts.
According to the VNAT under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, ASEAN is one of the important markets and partners of Vietnam.
In 2019, arrivals from ASEAN to Vietnam reached nearly 2.1 million, accounting for about 11.6% of the total number of international tourists to Vietnam.
In 2022, the country’s tourism strives to welcome 65 million tourists including five million from abroad and 60 million in Vietnam, equal to 150% of the figure in 2021, generating revenue of VND400 trillion (US$17.65 billion).
