The fourth batch of the COVID-19 vaccine is expected to arrive at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City on July 16.

Vietnam has so far received four types of vaccines, including AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, Vero-Cell, Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna.

The Ministry of Health has set a target that at least 50 percent of people aged 18 years and older will be inoculated with COVID-19 vaccines this year and over 70 percent of the population vaccinated by the end of the first quarter of next year.

Earlier, the Government had issued a resolution on the procurement of Russia’s Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine, which approved the Ministry of Health’s proposal for the negotiation for 40 million doses./.
