Never before has the quality of the lychees grown in the orchard of Ngo Van Cuong’s family in Phuc Hoa commune, Tan Yen district in Bac Giang province been as good as this year.

For nearly a month, the orchard, which meets GlobalGAP standards, has ended the spraying of pesticides and replaced them with microbial products.

Tan Yen district has more than 1,300 hectares of lychees with an estimated output of 14,000 tonnes. It expanded the planting area under GlobalGAP standards this year.

In order to establish a COVID-19-free lychee growing area, seven control stations have been set up and strict measures taken to ensure the fruit is free from disease.

Nearly 100 tonnes of lychee for export have been ordered. The first batch of lychees from Tan Yen district has already been exported to Japan.
