It is known that orange juice
is a wonderful source of vitamin C, pineapple fights off digestive
problems and it is said that mango juice delays aging.

When speaking about drinks in

Vietnam

, it is impossible not
to mention sweet porridges made from black beans, green beans, lotus
seeds, corn, etc., which are the favourite of many people on blazing hot
days.

making two popular summer drinks.

Green
rice flake sweet porridge

Ingredients:

– Green rice
flakes: 500g

–
Kudzu powder (or corn and arrowroot powder): 3 tablespoons

– Sugar or sugar
candy and some pomelo flowers

Preparation:

– Clean the green
rice flakes and let them drain.

– Mix the kudzu
powder in about 250ml of cold water.

– Heat 100ml of
water with 400g of sugar or 150g of sugar candy. When the mixture is
boiling, pour the kudzu water in and stir well until it becomes rather
pasty. When the mixture has cooled, add the green rice flakes and some
pomelo flowers.

Mango
juice

Ingredients:

– Ripen mangoes:

– Fresh milk:
100ml

– Juice of ¼ lemon
and honey

Preparation:

Peel the
mangoes and cut the pulp into pieces. In a blender combine the mango with
fresh milk. Add honey and lemon juice. Pour the mixture in a cup. Freeze
the juice before serving.
