According to Ho An Phong, Director of the provincial Department of Tourism, Quang Binh’s tourism sector has promoted its position on Vietnam’s tourist map, making it a more attractive destination among international visitors.
The province has invested well in tourism promotion activities and programmes, which have brought about effective results.
Such activities and programmes have receiving much attention from international media, television, news agencies and holiday-makers.
Prominent among those include its tourism promotion programme in Hollywood and New York Tourism Fair Time Travel Show in the US, a programme to explore a 600m-long underwater pathway inside Son Doong cave, and special tour programmes to Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park.
Regarding the domestic market, local tourist businesses and operators have made efforts to diversify their products and services with a focus on cave exploration, sea-based tourism, and community-based tourism.
In 2019, Quang Binh provincial hospitality sector targets to welcome 4.3 million visitors, including up to 300,000 foreigners, and earn around VND4.9 trillion in tourism revenue.
