The information was released at a press conference held jointly by the Department of Cinema under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ba Ria – Vung Tau provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on September 13.
The main activities of the festival will be the opening and awards ceremonies, and a seminar on shooting scenes in Vietnam.
On the sidelines of the biennial event, a wide variety of activities will also be held, including the screening of films within a week in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, the exchanges between artists and audiences and students, and an exhibition themed “Vietnamese seas and islands through the cinematic perspective.”
The organising board will present the Golden and Silver Lotus awards to the most outstanding entries in different categories including: feature film, documentary, scientific film and cartoon.
The best director, screenwriter, actors and actresses as well as the most well-liked individuals and films will also be honoured at the awards ceremony.
Vietnam Film Festival aims to honour humanistic and creative movies and films that are imbued with national identities as well as artists who gained outstanding achievements in the past year.
The festival will become an opportunity for Ba Ria – Vung Tau province to promote its landscapes, people and tourism potentials to both domestic and international visitors and enterprises.
