The Vietnamese men’s football team embarked on their journey to South Korea, boarding flight VN 428 from Hanoi at 12:50 am on Saturday, en route to Busan.

Upon their arrival in Busan, the team will make their way to their training base camp in Gyeongju City, located in the Gyeongsangbuk Province.

A series of friendly matches are scheduled during their training camp. They will face Ulsan Citizen from K League 3 on November 27 and then take on two K League 1 teams: Daegu FC on November 29 and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC on December 1.

Following the training camp, the squad will be joined by reinforcements from Vietnam’s Thep Xanh Nam Dinh FC, fresh from their participation in the AFC Champions League Two on December 4.

The highly anticipated 2024 ASEAN Championship is set to kick off on December 8, with the final match scheduled for January 5, 2025.

Vietnam has been placed in Group B, where they will compete against Laos on December 9, followed by matches against Indonesia on December 15, the Philippines on December 18, and Myanmar on December 21.

Group A comprises Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, and Timor-Leste.

In the group stage, each team will play two home games and two away games, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.

Both the semi-finals and the final will be played in a two-legged knockout format.

Vietnam is determined to put forth their best performance and reach the final match of the tournament.
