The Vietnam International Piano Competition & Festival (VIPCF) is currently open for registration. Embracing the theme “A United Stage,” VIPCF aims to foster international exchange and offer piano students of diverse ages and skill levels a chance to perform on a professional stage. The top four contenders from the Open Call round will be invited to showcase their skills in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with two candidates performing in each city. Additionally, these finalists will advance directly to the final round of VIPCF 2025.
The competition’s jury boasts an impressive lineup of world-renowned pianists. Among them are celebrated Argentinean pianist Daniel Rivera, the esteemed Belgian pianist Johan Schmidt, acclaimed Armenian pianist and Head of the Piano Department at the Komitas State Conservatory in Yerevan, Armen Babakhanian, and Vietnamese professor and People’s Teacher Tran Thu Ha, to name a few.

To commemorate the debut of the Bösendorfer 280VC piano in Vietnam and its sponsorship of VIPCF, the organizing committee, in collaboration with Maestoso, LA Music, and artist Luu Duc Anh, will present a special solo piano program, “From Brightness to Greatness.” This event will also mark the inaugural piano recital of VIPCF 2025, taking place on Friday, November 22, at 8 pm at the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi.
Vietnamese pianist Luu Duc Anh will grace the stage with iconic performances of works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven. The program includes Mozart’s Piano Sonata No. 10, KV. 330 in C major and Beethoven’s Piano Sonata Op. 57, “Appassionata” in F minor.
Furthermore, the two winners of the open selection round will enchant the audience with their renditions of Frédéric Chopin’s beloved pieces, including Nocturne, Mazurka, Valse, and Réminiscences de Norma, S.394.
