The Vietnam women’s football team has just concluded a successful training camp, which included three friendly matches against local women’s clubs in the Czech Republic and Germany. The team’s head coach, Mai Duc Chung, expressed satisfaction with the trip, noting significant improvements in the players’ performance and fitness levels.

During their time in Europe, the team secured impressive victories, winning 6-0 against FK Pardubice and 3-0 against FC Viktoria Plzen in the Czech Republic. Unfortunately, they suffered a 0-2 loss to RB Leipzig in Germany, which Coach Chung attributed to the long travel journey impacting their performance.

Despite this setback, Coach Chung saw positive progress in the team’s playing style and strategy. He made several adjustments to the lineup, allowing for a more comprehensive evaluation of the players’ skills. The match against FC Viktoria Plzen on September 11th stood out as a highlight, not just for the score but for the team’s effective use of their strengths against taller opponents. The players’ bold long-range shots also impressed the head coach.

Training in Europe provided the team with access to excellent facilities, which Coach Chung believes contributed to their development. He noted improvements in their physical strength and a more open playing style, resulting from better understanding and coordination among the players.

The head coach also commended the Vietnam Football Federation for their support and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to prepare for upcoming international competitions. With an eye on the future, Coach Chung included several young players in this training camp, some from the U20 age group. These young talents integrated well and showed promising physical improvements, despite the short training period.

However, Coach Chung also identified areas for further refinement, such as ball handling, passing, and observation skills. The team is now scheduled to return to Hanoi, with an expected arrival at Noi Bai International Airport on Monday afternoon.
