For the first time, the Vietnamese circus troupe has claimed a medal at the IDOL competition, one of the most esteemed events in the global circus industry. This year’s event witnessed the participation of over 200 artists from 17 countries, including notable circus powerhouses such as Russia, Kazakhstan, and China. With 24 unique acts, the competition was intense and diverse.

The organizing committee bestowed a Grand Fix, alongside gold, silver, and bronze awards upon the talented competitors. Among them, four female artists from Vietnam stood out with their exceptional performance, captivating the jury and audience alike. Their innovative use of props, designed as conical hats, and the integration of the violin melody from “Hello Vietnam” showcased Vietnamese culture and left a lasting impression.

Vietnam’s circus artists have previously made their mark at international festivals. In October 2022, Pham Thi Huong and Chu Hong Thuy secured a gold prize for their “Du Son” performance at the prestigious International Circus Festival in Russia. Their achievements, along with the recent IDOL medal, underscore the rising recognition and success of Vietnamese circus talents on the world stage.
