Situated in Ibaraki, Osaka, the Vantage Data Centers’ KIX1 Campus is a greenfield project, offering a significant boost to cloud and high-density deployments. With up to 68MW of capacity, this facility provides the flexibility and scalability needed to meet the ever-evolving demands of the market.
Strategically positioned in northern Osaka, the campus spans 485,000 square feet (45,000 square meters) and comprises two data centers built with seismic base-isolation structures. The first facility, offering 28MW of IT load, is slated for completion in early 2026. Vantage’s commitment to sustainability is evident in the campus’s construction, adhering to their “sustainable by design” blueprint for industry-leading energy efficiency.
Vantage’s APAC team and construction partners, including Taisei Corporation, celebrated the commencement of the KIX1 development with a traditional Japanese groundbreaking ceremony, known as Jichinsai. This ritual sanctifies the land and invokes blessings for safety during construction.
“With our first campus in Osaka, Vantage is excited to enter Japan’s thriving data center market,” said Raymond Tong, President of Vantage’s APAC business. “We are proud to support the country’s digitalization efforts, powered by cloud and AI innovations. Our KIX1 Campus will serve the needs of hyperscale and enterprise customers in the Greater Osaka area, and we look forward to becoming a valued part of the local community.”
