Nature lovers will love trekking through the primitive Cat Tien forest, seeing rare, strange ancient trees, colorful plants and flowers, precious herbals, and medical plants. Tourists can also hire a jeep car to be carried through the forest, or a bicycle to ride around and enjoy nature themselves.
The animal life in the park is similar to the animals found in the East Truong Son plain and is closely connected to the Tay Nguyen region. One notable feature is the presence of six common hoofed species, including wild boars, Javan mouse deer, banteng, sambar deer, barking deer, and gaur. Cat Tien is quite special because it is one of the few forests in Vietnam where you can see Vietnam animals in their natural surroundings. This makes it a great place for observing and appreciating wildlife.
The park finds itself in a special spot, where the mountainous and plain climates meet. This unique blend creates a stunning natural scene that is hard to beat. The park currently houses an impressive 1,610 plant species. Among them, 31 are so important that they are listed in Vietnam’s Red Book.

Con Dao island named Asia’s paradise sea: CNN
NDO/VNA – Boasting crystal turquoise sea and a placid atmosphere, Con Dao island in the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau has been named by the US Cable News Network (CNN) as one of Asia’s paradise seas.
Vung Tau and Con Dao Island Nightlife
Vung Tau is a lot more commercialized compared to the Con Dao Islands and there’s a lot more to do in the mainland town. This is partly because this area was used as a rest & recreation destination for American soldiers during the Vietnam War. Later on when Vung Tau became the centre of the oil business in the country, many Russians came to work in the oil fields and started a large resident compound here. Many of them socialised downtown and revitalised the place. If your idea of a good night out is a game of pool and chatting with girls who work as hostesses in some of the more ‘colourful’ cafes and bars, Vung Tau is the place to be. Con Dao is beautiful and very quiet at night. Nightlife activity here is still very limited. It can be quite simple – eating out at one of the local restaurants, followed by drinking Vietnamese coffee or tea or beer probably at the same venue.
