Nguyen Thuy Linh, a 27-year-old badminton star, will be part of the esteemed Team Visa athlete program during the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The program recognizes her sporting excellence and commitment to her sport, inspiring women and communities worldwide.
The athlete program, established in 2000, provides unwavering support to over 600 Olympic and Paralympic athletes globally. Linh is among the 117 global athletes chosen to represent the principles of equality, access, and inclusion.
The Paris 2024 cohort is the largest and most diverse group in the program’s history, consisting of athletes from more than 60 countries and 40 sports.
As a representative of Vietnam, Linh has shown unwavering dedication and resilience, culminating in her ranking of 20th in the Badminton World Federation rankings. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Vietnamese badminton.
Linh expressed her immense pride in representing Vietnam as part of the Team Visa athlete program for Paris 2024. She sees this recognition as a humbling honor.

To qualify for the women’s singles badminton event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, athletes must attain a ranking between 1 and 34 in the Olympic qualification rankings. Linh currently occupies the 22nd position in the rankings.
Her objective is to enhance her ranking and break into the top 12, securing a seeding. This would significantly increase her chances of progressing beyond the group stage and into the Round of 16 at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
