Representatives from Vietnamese youth studying and researching at universities across Thailand, as well as representatives from the Vietnamese Association in Bangkok and surrounding areas, and the Vietnamese Businessmen Association in Bangkok, attended the event.

The President of the Executive Committee of theVietnamese Student Association in Thailand(VSAT), Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, emphasized that VSAT is the only student association supported by the Vietnam Embassy in Thailand. It is also one of the foreign units directly under the Central Vietnamese Students’ Association. Despite facing numerous challenges since its establishment six years ago, VSAT has become one of the largest and most influential international student associations in Thailand.

VSAT’s recent accomplishments include completing the document for the Vietnamese Student Congress in Thailand and the registration of the VSAT Executive Committee in the 3rd term, both recognized by the Central Vietnam Students’ Association in September 2023. Furthermore, VSAT has successfully registered the Vietnamese Student Association in Thailand, facilitating connections with international students and contributing to the association’s growth. In December 2023, VSAT participated in the welcoming ceremony of Vietnam’s National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and delivered a policy speech at Chulalongkorn University in Thailand.

President Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep stated that in addition to promoting the “5 Good Students” movement (Good Study, Good Ethics, Good Volunteering, Good Integration, and Good Physical), VSAT is focused on addressing the specific needs of the international student community in Thailand. Plans include establishing partnerships with businesses to secure funding for educational counseling and career guidance services for students interested in studying in Thailand. The fund will also support volunteer trips to assist underprivileged families and visits to President Ho Chi Minh’s relics in Thailand to foster revolutionary ideals, love for one’s homeland, and gratitude towards Uncle Ho, among other activities.

Another important objective is to strengthen relationships and promote exchanges with Vietnamese Student Associations in other countries and Provincial Student Associations in Vietnam. VSAT has already established a partnership with the Student Association of Dong Nai province, contributing to the exchange of learning experiences within the student movement.

Chulalongkorn University lecturer, Do Thuy Ha, expressed that the event was highly beneficial for the student community living and studying abroad. She described VSAT as a home that brings people together and assures individuals that they are not alone. Students in need of academic assistance or facing personal difficulties can rely on their friends from VSAT.

Chairman Do Xuan Phuc, on behalf of the Vietnamese Association in Bangkok and surrounding areas, congratulated VSAT on its remarkable development and expressed hopes for its continued success in positively contributing to both the home country and the host country.

Vietnamese students from Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, King Mongkut Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Bangkok University, Assumption University Thailand (ABAC), and other Thai universities attended the event (Photo: TTXVN).

Vietnamese students from Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, King Mongkut Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Bangkok University, Assumption University Thailand (ABAC), and other Thai universities also participated in a talk show, where they had the opportunity to learn from lecturers and experts about integrating faster into the host country and overcoming culture shock. Additionally, the event featured musical performances to celebrate the upcoming Year of the Dragon in 2024.
