The prestigious Awards Ceremony for the World Flower Council Summit 2023 (WFCS) was held on the evening of September 11th. Taking place at Da Lat University in Da Lat, famously known as the City of Flowers, this event took place in Vietnam’s Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.

The event will feature a captivating flower-themed fashion show showcasing 34 exquisite outfits crafted from fresh flowers. The works of the host country Vietnam have received high praise, particularly for a costume that artfully combines flowers with traditional straw and bamboo materials. Other notable creations include a flower dress adorned with iconic patterns inspired by the Vietnamese Lac bird on the Dong Son drum.
During the competition, the Vietnamese team achieved remarkable success in the WFC Championship Cup category, with Nguyen Chi Thai receiving the prestigious gold award and Ngo Hau earning the esteemed bronze award. Additionally, Singaporean flower arranger Denny Lam was awarded the silver prize. It is worth mentioning that all three consolation prizes in this category were awarded to other talented Vietnamese contestants.
In the WFC Friendship Cup category, Vietnamese participants once again triumphed. Dinh Thi Bich Van was awarded the gold, while Nguyen Thi Luu achieved the silver. Ha Minh Chau secured the bronze, and Vo Truong Vy Thao was granted a consolation prize.

The 37th World Flower Council Summit (WFCS), centered around the theme “Vietnam – Blooming with Timeless Charm”, has successfully drawn over 500 flower professionals hailing from 18 countries and territories. This year’s remarkable event is jointly organized by the World Flower Council and Da Lat University, scheduled to take place from September 8 to 12. Numerous engaging activities, including WFC member delegate meetings and workshops on fruit, vegetable, and flower design, have been arranged for the participants to actively participate in. The primary objective of this summit is to pay tribute to the value of flowers and the flower industry, while also disseminating a message of peace through the sharing of love and knowledge in the floral community. Additionally, this summit holds significant importance as it coincides with the commemoration of the 130th anniversary of the establishment and growth of Da Lat City. The WFCS initially began in Japan in 1983, with a mission to promote world peace by showcasing the beauty of flowers. It serves as a platform for delegates to exchange innovative design techniques and ideas with their counterparts from all around the globe, as well as to gain insights into the latest advancements in flower care and handling methods.
