The painting contest “Vietnam – Cuba children in solidarity” was launched by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and took place from June 1 to August 1. Children from provinces and cities across the country actively participated in the contest, completing their works to prepare for the competition.
Ba Ria Vung Tau
The Children’s House of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province recently organized a drawing contest titled “Children’s Colors in 2023” to select the 60 best paintings to be sent to the central drawing contest “Vietnam – Cuba children in solidarity”. “.

The contest had the participation of 300 primary and secondary school students from 7 districts, towns, and cities in the province. Each contestant was given 150 minutes to create an A3-size picture using their preferred medium such as pencil, gouache, crayon, oil paint, watercolor, markers, or other materials.
Through their artwork, the children demonstrated their understanding of the relationship between Cuban leader Fidel Castro and President Ho Chi Minh, as well as the relationship between the two countries in the past, present, and future. They also depicted their understanding of the country of Cuba and showcased activities of children from both Vietnam and Cuba.

Ha Tinh
Right after the painting contest “Vietnam – Cuba children love solidarity” was launched, thousands of children in districts such as Vu Quang, Can Loc, and Hong Linh town of Ha Tinh province actively participated.

The Deputy Secretary of the District Youth Union, Vu Quang Le Xuan Thang, stated that the district union informed the commune union and the staff in charge of children to effectively implement the contest. The children were able to watch documentary films about the traditional history of Vietnam – Cuba and receive guidance on painting techniques to unleash their creativity and apply the knowledge they have acquired.
The contest entries were carefully and meticulously created by children and students, showcasing the solidarity and affection between the two peoples. A total of 150 outstanding artworks with rich messages were selected to be sent to the central contest.

Duong Phuong Anh, a student from Phan Kinh Primary School in Can Loc district, shared that participating in the contest helped her gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between the two countries. The message she portrayed through her artwork is “Vietnam – Cuba unite to create strength,” with the hope of deepening the affection between the two peoples.

According to Tran Linh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Team Council, the Provincial Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization directed all districts, cities, and towns to promote and guide children’s active participation in the contest.

This was a meaningful activity aimed at propagating and nurturing children about the good friendship between the two peoples of Vietnam and Cuba, encouraging them to take concrete actions to continue praising and inculcating the special friendship between the people of Vietnam and Cuba in general and the young generations of the two countries in particular.

After the launching period, children from various districts in Nghe An province, such as Nam Dan, Yen Thanh, Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, and Que Phong, participated in the contest. Over the past month, the Provincial Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization has received more than 400 artworks.
