The highlight of the event is the Halong Carnival 2023, themed “The Halong Dance – In Harmony with the Five Continents”, which will take place on May 1st at 8 pm on Vo Nguyen Giap Boulevard, Bai Chay Ward, Halong City. This unique event promises an unforgettable experience for guests, as they will be able to witness a vibrant display of culture and music from around the world. The 15th Halong Carnival will consist of four parts: an opening ceremony, a spectacular main stage art performance, a stimulating street parade, and a beautiful low-level fireworks display.
According to Nguyen Ngoc Son, Vice Chairman of Halong City People’s Committee, Carnaval Ha Long 2023 will be a wonderful and creative performance based on many themes such as history, legend, nature, and more, showcasing Halong’s position as a leading, vibrant, and exciting holiday destination in Asia.
As an event of light, color, music, art, and cultural identity, Halong Carnival 2023 will attract about 2,000 actors, singers, dancers, musicians, folk artists and others. It will be a spectacular showcase of culture and traditions from Quang Ninh province. The street carnival will also feature unique dances from the local ethnic minorities, as well as performances from the actors, singers, dancers, and musicians who are set to take part in the event. Halong Carnival 2023 promises to be a truly unforgettable experience!
According to the organizers, this year’s Halong Carnival will incorporate a variety of cutting-edge lighting and sound technologies, creating a truly captivating light show and art performance that will leave visitors with a lasting impression of Vietnam’s historic city.

Joining the festival, tourists will be granted the opportunity to immerse themselves in the enchanting musical atmosphere of a sensational musical party. The highlight of the Halong Carnival is the delightful street parades with a plethora of vibrant costumes and dances along the picturesque streets along the coast.
The festival gets even more thrilling with spectacular traditional Vietnamese art performances, including the dragon dance, fire dance, drum dance, and a breathtaking fireworks show.
Along with the Carnival, Halong City will organize many diverse, cultural, artistic, sports, and tourism activities at Quang Ninh Museum, October 30 Square, and other vibrant newly established tourist attractions.
On April 29, there will be a vibrant dance festival; the following day, April 30, will feature a kite flying festival as well as the opening ceremony of the photo competition entitled “Ha Long – the Heritage City” and a street food and art festival. Other activities are also planned for the day.
The first Halong Carnival was organized in 2006 to diversify Halong’s tourism products. Since then, the biggest annual festival has become an excellent tourism product of the city, drawing thousands of people from around the world. With a wide variety of activities, such as parades, live music, art performances, and traditional games, this vibrant celebration of culture and tradition provides an exciting experience for visitors of all ages. From street food to night markets, and from fireworks to boat races, the Halong Carnival has something for everyone.
