Nguyet has secured her spot at the upcoming Paris Olympics, qualifying for one of the final five archery places. This will be her second consecutive Summer Olympics appearance, having also competed in Tokyo in 2020.

With an athlete withdrawing from the women’s individual recurve event due to overlapping commitments, an additional place became available, which Nguyet was quick to claim. She is currently ranked first in Vietnam and 72nd worldwide in the individual recurve category, an impressive feat.

At the Paris Games, Nguyet will showcase her skills in both individual and mixed events. She will be partnering with Le Quoc Phong, who has already qualified, in the mixed category, aiming for Olympic glory.

With her qualification, Vietnam now has 14 Olympic qualifiers, surpassing its initial goal of 12 spots. Among the other talented Vietnamese athletes are swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang, cyclist Nguyen Thi That, and markswomen Trinh Thu Vinh, to name a few.

The country eagerly awaits the Olympic organizing committee’s decisions regarding special spots for Tran Thi Nhi Yen in athletics and Vo Thi My Tien or Nguyen Thuy Hien in swimming. These announcements are expected in early July, just before the Olympics commence on July 26.

Nguyet’s achievement is a testament to her dedication and talent, and she will undoubtedly represent Vietnam with pride in the world of Olympic archery.
