A luxury project in Brazil, allegedly owned by Neymar, has been accused of violating rules regarding the use and movement of freshwater sources, rock and sand. The local authorities raised these allegations late last month and have now confirmed them. When approached for comment, a spokesperson for Neymar declined to provide any information on the matter. Neymar’s residence is situated in Mangaratiba, a town located on the southern coast of Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro state. The local environmental body in Mangaratiba issued a statement on Monday stating that the environmental infractions occurred during the construction of an artificial lake at Neymar’s mansion. Aside from facing a fine, the case will also be investigated by various environmental control bodies, including the local attorney general’s office, the state civil police, and the environmental protection office.
