The Paris 2024 Olympic Games, an international multi-sport event, is set to thrill audiences from July 26 to August 11 this year in the beautiful city of Paris, France. Nicolas Warnery, the French Ambassador to Vietnam, showcased his support for Vietnam’s national rowing team by visiting them in their training base in Thuy Nguyen District last Saturday afternoon. This gesture of encouragement comes as two of Vietnam’s finest athletes, canoeist Nguyen Thi Huong and rower Pham Thi Hue, have qualified for the upcoming Olympic Games.

During his visit, Ambassador Warnery extended his congratulations to the team and wished them success in their future endeavors. He also participated in a friendly boat race, rowing alongside Vietnamese rowers. The ambassador’s visit holds significance as it highlights the growing sporting prowess of Vietnam on an international scale.

Pham Thi Hue, a talented rower, has made her mark by qualifying for the Summer Olympics for the third time. Additionally, the national boat racing team has achieved a remarkable feat by securing spots in both canoeing and rowing competitions at the Games for the very first time. This speaks volumes about the dedication and talent of Vietnam’s athletes.

As the qualified athletes prepare for the Games, Hue will undergo specialized training in Thailand, while Huong will test her mettle at the Hungarian U23 Championships. Vietnam has already secured nine spots across various sports at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with cyclists, shooters, boxers, swimmers, weightlifters, and badminton players among the contingent.

Le Duc Phat, a badminton player, and swimmer Vo Thi My Tien are also awaiting official confirmation of their qualification from their respective sports’ governing bodies. The Paris 2024 Olympic Games promise to be a showcase of Vietnam’s sporting talent, and with Ambassador Warnery’s support, the nation’s athletes are sure to feel a boost in morale as they strive for excellence on the world stage.
