The National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting has reported that on the morning of January 4, cold air will gradually affect the North and North Central regions. The inland northeast wind will be strong again at level 3, while in coastal areas it will be at levels 3-4. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in some places.

The lowest temperature in the mountainous areas will range from 12-14 degrees Celsius, and in other places in the Northern and North Central regions it will range from 15-18 degrees Celsius.

Weather forecast in different regions

Northwest region: The weather forecast predicts rain, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds. The lowest temperature will be 16-19 degrees Celsius, with some places experiencing temperatures below 14 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature will range from 19-22 degrees Celsius, with some places in the Northwest reaching 25-27 degrees.

Northeast region: The weather will be rainy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. Since the morning of January 3, the northeast wind has increased to level 3. During thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds can occur. Mornings and nights will be cold. The lowest temperature will be 15-18 degrees Celsius, with some places in the mountains experiencing temperatures below 14 degrees. The highest temperature will range from 18-21 degrees Celsius, with some places exceeding 21 degrees.

Thanh Hoa – Thua Thien Hue: Rainy, with showers and thunderstorms in some places. During thunderstorms, there is a risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds. The weather is cold in the North. The lowest temperature is 17-20 degrees Celsius, with some places in the South experiencing temperatures above 20 degrees. The highest temperature is 20-23 degrees Celsius.

Da Nang – Binh Thuan: Rainy, with showers and thunderstorms in some places. Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan will experience thunderstorms at night and during the day. Lowest temperature: 22-25 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature: in the North it will be 24-27 degrees Celsius, and in the South it will be 28-31 degrees Celsius.

The Central Highlands: Scattered showers in the evening and night, with sunny days during the day. Northeast to east winds at level 2-3. Lowest temperature: 18-21 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature: 28-31 degrees Celsius.

The Southern region: Scattered showers in some places in the evening and night, with sunny days during the day. Northeast to east winds at level 2-3. The lowest temperature will be 22-25 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature will be 31-34 degrees Celsius, with some places in the East exceeding 35 degrees.

Weather forecast in major cities

Hanoi: Rainy with scattered showers and thunderstorms, and extremely cold weather in the evening and at night. Lowest temperature: 16-18 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature: 19-21 degrees Celsius.

Ho Chi Minh City: According to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the weather in the Ho Chi Minh City area will be rainy with sunny days. The temperature will range between 33 – 35 degrees. Average relative humidity will be 49 – 67%, with cloud density at 21 – 35%.
