The National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting has issued a warning for heavy rain in the Northern, North-Central, Central Highlands, and Southern regions.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across the Northern region on the afternoon and night of May 24, with local areas experiencing heavy rain and up to 15-30mm of rainfall.

Evenings and nights in other areas will see similar weather conditions, with the exception of the South, which will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms during the evening. High temperatures are predicted for the morning and afternoon.

Regional Weather Forecast:

Northwest Region: Scattered showers and thunderstorms are predicted for some areas during the evening and night. Tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds may occur during thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from a low of 23-26°C (22°C or lower in some places) to a high of 29-32°C (exceeding 32°C in some locations).

Northeast Region: The evening will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms. There is a risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds during thunderstorms. The temperature will dip to a low of 23-26°C and drop further to below 22°C in mountainous areas. The high will reach 30-33°C.

Thanh Hoa – Thua Thien Hue: Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon and evening. These storms may bring tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds, with tornadoes specifically forecasted for coastal areas. Temperatures will range from a low of 24-27°C to a high of 29-32°C, surpassing 32°C in some places.

Da Nang – Binh Thuan: Some areas will experience thunderstorms with moderate to heavy rain during the day. Keep an eye out for tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds during these storms. Coastal areas are likely to experience tornadoes. The temperature will range from a low of 25-28°C to a high of 31-34°C, exceeding 34°C in some locations.

Central Highlands: Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in local areas during the afternoon and evening. Tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds may occur during thunderstorms. The temperature will range from a low of 21-24°C to a high of 29-32°C, surpassing 32°C in some places.

Southern Region: Localized showers and thunderstorms are predicted for the night, with high temperatures during the day. Tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong winds may occur during thunderstorms. The temperature will range from a low of 25-28°C to a high of 32-35°C, exceeding 35°C in some areas.

Weather Forecast for Major Cities:

Hanoi: Moderate to heavy rain is expected during the day, with possible tornadoes, lightning, and strong winds during thunderstorms. The temperature will range from a low of 24-26°C to a high of 30-32°C.

Ho Chi Minh City: The city will experience cloudy and hot conditions with high temperatures during the day, along with localized showers and thunderstorms at night. The temperature will range from a low of 25-28°C to a high of 32-35°C.
