Both players demonstrated a high-speed, aggressive style of play. However, Le Duc Phat’s mental preparation and effective defense allowed him to confidently close the first set with a score of 21/18 in his favor. He continued to dominate in the second set, winning 21/14 as his opponent’s energy waned.
In the end, Phat secured a 2-0 victory, claiming the men’s singles championship of the tournament. This win marks Le Duc Phat’s first international triumph in 2024, as he previously fell short in the men’s singles finals of the 2024 International Challenge tournaments in Iran and Azerbaijan.
Earlier in the tournament, Phat defeated Italian rival Fabio Caponio (world seed No.90) with a close score of 19-21, 21-14, 21-13 in the Round of 16. He then went on to defeat US player Mark Shelley Alcala (world seed No.102) with a score of 21-18, 21-17 in the quarterfinals on February 23.

Prior to his victory at the 2024 Uganda International Challenge, Le Duc Phat reached the quarterfinals in the Iran Fajr International Challenge 2024, and the Round of 16 in the Azerbaijan International 2024.
