This was a significant event as it marked the first time Vietnam hosted the competition, providing a unique opportunity to showcase the Vietnam People’s Army’s glorious tradition to other countries.

AARM – 24 was held during a pivotal moment in ASEAN’s history, as the association entered its final year (2015) of community-building. As such, the event carried great importance, offering a new impetus for enhanced cooperation among ASEAN member countries’ armies and the participating contingents. It also served as a platform for shooters to exchange their experiences, skills, and tactics from actual combat scenarios.

The 24th ASEAN Army Rifle Meet witnessed the participation of 10 contingents from ASEAN member nations, encompassing Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, and the host country, Vietnam. These contingents competed across five categories: rifle, machine gun, carbine, men’s pistol, and women’s pistol. Notably, the Vietnamese contingent boasted 31 athletes competing across all five categories in a total of 32 matches.
