For its Raya Stail Kita campaign, Shopee collaborated with long-term sellers, celebrities, and influencers to showcase three trends for 2024: kek lapis, burnt orange, and a nostalgic twist.

Shopee’s Head of Marketing, Kenneth Soh, described the fashion show as a tribute to the golden days of P. Ramlee and Saloma. The goal was to create a wholesome and inclusive fashion and beauty experience for Malaysians who celebrate Raya. With Raya Stail Kita, Malaysians can dress stylishly and support local sellers during the festive season.

Unlike traditional fashion shows, Shopee’s runway slowed down to showcase how different garments can be styled for the whole family. The show featured ten Shopee Muslim fashion sellers and Habib Jewels who sponsored outfits and accessories.

In addition to the fashion segment, beauty and skincare brands such as Y.O.U, Simply Siti, Silky Girl, Papa Feel, and more supported the event.

The fashion looks were modeled by Hikma Al Hassan, a body positive model, and were curated based on Malaysians’ online shopping preferences. The first look, Kek Lapis, encouraged Malaysians to experiment with unconventional layering. The second look featured various ways to style Burnt Orange for both men and women of different skin tones. The third look, Nostalgia Balik Kampung, showcased traditional and retro styles familiar to every Malaysian.

Kiffy Razak, Managing Editor of NONA, Hijabista, and Mingguan Wanita, shared her styling advice for Malaysians: incorporate kek lapis color blocking, wear lively yet chic orange, or choose nostalgic outfits and add a touch of glam to create a perfect Raya look.

Dato’ Jovian Mandagie, a Fashion Designer and part of Shopee Celebrity Squad, emphasized the importance of comfort and modesty in Eid fashion. He advised Malaysians to prioritize comfort and only follow trends that suit their personality.

Zoey Rahman, Malaysian Actor and Founder of Mikaseries, expressed his preference for classic Baju Melayu with a cekak musang collar and concealed buttons. He recommended styling it with an instant sampin for a quick and classic Raya morning look.

Raya Stail Kita study* revealed that most Malaysians are driven to shop for coordinated looks with their families this Raya. The survey also showed that the layer cake Raya trend, retro outfits, and burnt orange are popular choices.
