Today, Schellenberg Wittmer is one of the foremost Swiss multinational corporations providing specialized legal services in areas such as banking & finance, capital markets, and cross-border dispute resolutions, among others.

The Singapore office was initially established by Partner and former Managing Director Dr. Philippe Borens, who played a pivotal role in building a successful business. In 2017, Mr. Christopher Boog took over as the new Managing Director, and under his leadership, the Singapore office evolved into a prominent center for International Arbitration services. Additionally, Mr. Boog demonstrated his expertise in assisting clients with both inbound and outbound investments.

In early 2023, Mr. Boog passed the baton over to the current Managing Director and Partner, Ms. Julie Raneda. With seven years of experience in the Singapore team, she possesses an in-depth understanding of the region.

Ms Raneda was elected as the Chair of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SwissCham Singapore) in early 2023, making her the first female to hold this position. As a Partner at Schellenberg Wittmer, she will leverage her expertise to not only solidify the firm’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region but also to champion the interests of Swiss businesses in Singapore. Her objective is to foster stronger ties between the Swiss and Singaporean economies by actively engaging with SwissCham.

She mentioned that Singapore and Switzerland have many similarities and a longstanding relationship. This presents a valuable opportunity for us to provide guidance and support to our clients in both regions, helping them strengthen and nurture their connections.

With our long-standing presence, Schellenberg Wittmer has established itself as a trusted ally for cross-border work and international arbitration issues in Singapore and the surrounding areas.

Mr. Boog, who maintains strong relationships with clients in the region, stated that Schellenberg Wittmer Singapore serves as our gateway to diverse markets in Asia, allowing us to establish closer connections with our regional clients. This strategic advantage sets us apart from many of our competitors.

Schellenberg Wittmer would like to express its gratitude to all our clients, business partners, and team members for their invaluable collaboration over the past 10 years. We look forward to a promising future with all our partners. To commemorate this significant milestone, we will be hosting a celebratory event in Singapore on September 7, 2023, in honor of our 10th anniversary.

Schellenberg Wittmer is a premier Swiss business law firm with over 150 lawyers based in Zurich and Geneva. We also have an office in Singapore.
