After a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the two events mentioned above resumed with the participation of 102 Laotian delegates and around 300 youth union members from Vietnam.

These programs are meaningful activities to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (September 5, 1962 – 2022) and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the bilateral Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (July 18, 1977 – 2022). They also serve as a special occasion for the youth of both countries to remember the traditional alliance, support, and goodwill between the Parties, States, and people of Vietnam and Laos in the national liberation, reunification, and development.

Bui Quang Huy, first secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee, emphasized the importance of these events in teaching the youth about the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. He also mentioned the significance of studying and following the ideologies, moral examples, and styles of late Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Kaysone Phomvihane.

Huy highlighted the HCYU’s commitment to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the youth of both countries and acknowledged the need for greater efforts to elevate this relationship to new heights.
