This festival aims to showcase the beauty, cultural and historical significance, and tourist attractions of Hanoi by emphasizing its unique and captivating features. It will celebrate and honor the capital’s iconic landmarks, historical sites, and rich cultural heritage. This is the second iteration of the Hanoi Autumn Festival hosted in the city.

The event will spotlight Hanoi’s distinctive cultural heritage, regarded as the nation’s essence due to its unique characteristics. Several key locations will serve as venues for the festival, including Ba Kieu Temple, Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Ly Thai To Flower Garden, and Le Thach Street in the Hoan Kiem District.

A standout feature of the festival will be an impressive exhibition that takes visitors back to a pivotal moment in Hanoi’s history: Liberation Day on October 10, 1954. This exhibition will recreate the scene of Hanoians enthusiastically waving flags and flowers to greet the triumphant army as they marched into the liberated capital. It provides an opportunity for both visitors and residents to reflect on the nation’s glorious past and appreciate the richness of Hanoi’s heritage.

One of the exhibitions, titled “Hanoi of 12 Flower Seasons,” will display the vibrant floral beauty of Hanoi across the four seasons. Visitors will be treated to a colorful array of blossoms, from bright peach flowers in spring to shy pink lotuses in summer, golden chrysanthemums in autumn, and pure white apricot flowers in winter.

The Hanoi Culinary Delights section will feature a mouth-watering array of Hanoi specialties, such as Pho Bat Dan, or Bat Dan Beef Noodle Soup, Bun cha Hang Manh, Grilled Pork with Noodles from Hang Manh Street, and Banh cuon Thanh Tri, Steamed Rice Crepes from Thanh Tri District, to name a few.

Additionally, the festival will exhibit miniatures of iconic Hanoi landmarks, including the Hanoi Flagpole, Uoc Le Village Gate, Long Bien Bridge, and Quan Chuong Gate, offering a unique perspective on the city’s famous sites.

Various performances and parades will be organized with the participation of the city’s Youth Union and 30 districts and cities. These will include lion and dragon dances from Thanh Oai District, a mid-autumn lantern parade from Son Tay District, kite flying from Dong Anh District, flower displays from Me Linh District, and water puppet shows from Te Tieu Village in My Duc District.

Moreover, districts with tourism potential will present their cultural and tourism offerings and destinations at the stage area and festival booths, providing a comprehensive overview of the region’s attractions.

As a prelude to the four-day festival, an art performance named “Historical Autumn” will be held on September 19 in front of the Monument of Determined Resistance for National Survival, setting the tone for the celebrations to come.
