Embassy of Republic of Korea Celebrates National Foundation Day

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea (RoK) hosted a ceremony in Hanoi to celebrate the 4,355th anniversary of the RoK’s National Foundation Day. The event was attended by government officials, leaders of provinces, representatives from ministries and foreign embassies as well as the Korean overseas community in Vietnam.

The celebration in Hanoi marked the founding of ancient Korea, Gojoseon. Standing Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu expressed confidence in the RoK’s goals and its role in promoting peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world. He emphasized the strong and comprehensive development of the Vietnam-RoK partnership and the potential for further growth in various sectors.
Vietnam is a key partner of the RoK in implementing initiatives such as the Korea-ASEAN Solidarity Initiative (KASI) and the RoK’s Indo-Pacific Strategy. The bilateral relationship has room for further development, especially in the post-pandemic economic recovery and major global trends.
Vietnam reaffirms its commitment to the strategic partnership with the RoK and its support for the RoK’s greater international role in maintaining peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

RoK Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Youngsam highlighted the continued growth of bilateral ties, focusing on key industries and digital transformation. The ceremony also featured booths showcasing products from RoK’s small and medium-sized enterprises, the tasting of RoK farm produce, and traditional games. Various music performances by Korean dance troupes also entertained the guests.
