Within the framework of the Vietnamese Cultural Day in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2023, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism collaborated with the Vietnamese Embassy in the UAE to organize a national music art program to celebrate Vietnam’s National Day and the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the UAE.
Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to the UAE Nguyen Manh Tuan emphasized the positive development of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the UAE in various fields such as politics, transportation, trade, investment, labor, and tourism.
The UAE is currently Vietnam’s largest trading partner among Arab countries in the Middle East-North Africa region, and Vietnam is the UAE’s largest partner in ASEAN. In 2022, the non-oil trade between the two countries is expected to reach USD 8.3 billion.

During the program, renowned Vietnamese artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music performed classic concert works of Vietnamese traditional music. The highlight of the program was a combined performance between Vietnamese and UAE artists, featuring traditional Vietnamese instruments such as the monochord and flute, along with Arabic instruments Oud and Qanun.

In 2020, at the Expo 2020 World Exhibition in Dubai, the Vietnam pavilion successfully showcased Vietnam’s unique traditional culture, history, and scientific achievements to UAE and international audiences. The exhibition hall attracted more than 700,000 visitors, including heads of state and senior leaders from various countries and international organizations.
