“Get on Hanoi 2024” is set to feature a spectacular drone light show on March 9-10, creating a captivating experience for visitors as reported by NDO.
The event will be held at the creative space near Trinh Cong Son and Lac Long Quan streets.
This show will act as the opening for more than 50 cultural, festival, and tourism activities taking place throughout the city in 2024. These events will promote Hanoi’s charm to both domestic and international tourists, including Hanoi Tourism Festival 2024; Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2024; Hanoi Autumn Festival; Culinary Festival and craft village tourism; and Hanoi Ao Dai Festival 2024.

These activities are part of the city’s efforts to achieve its goal of attracting 27 million visitors this year, including 5.5 million international visitors.
In February, Hanoi welcomed an estimated 2.18 million visitors, including nearly 383,000 foreigners, marking a 7.1% and 15% year-on-year increase respectively. This information was reported by the municipal Tourism Department on February 28.
The department also reported that the number of visitors to the capital city has shown an upward trend. Total revenue from tourism activities is estimated to reach VND 8.06 trillion (USD 327 million), a 9% increase compared to the previous year.
Since the beginning of this year, Hanoi has received a total of 4.23 million visitors, an 11.9% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Of these, 890,000 are international visitors and 3.34 million are domestic visitors, representing a 52.4% and 4.5% increase respectively. Total revenue from tourists during the first two months is estimated to be VND 16.42 trillion (USD 666 million), a 20.9% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
In addition to the drone light show, residents and visitors will also have the opportunity to savor Hanoi’s typical cuisine, participate in folk games, and admire the award-winning photos from a tourism photography contest.
As part of the program, the Department of Tourism and People’s Committee of Tay Ho district announced the decision to recognize the Nhat Tan tourist area, located in Nhat Tan ward.
The Nhat Tan tourist area boasts attractive natural and cultural resources, drawing many domestic and foreign tourists who come to visit, experience, explore, and savor local and regional cuisine.
The main attractions in the tourist area include Nhat Tan communal house, Tao Sach pagoda, West Lake, Nhat Tan traditional peach blossom craft village, Trinh Cong Son walking street, West Lake flower valley, West Lake Water Park, and Sen Tay Ho restaurant.
Within the tourist area, there are 19 accommodation establishments offering a total of 102 rooms. The leisure and entertainment services, both indoors and outdoors, cover an area of 100,000 square meters.
In March, the Hanoi Tourism Department will carry out various activities to continue promoting tourism development, including the “Get on Hanoi 2024” program and the Friendship Spring Tourism 2024 program, according to VNA.
Furthermore, the department will develop a draft plan to establish community and agricultural tourism models that offer practical experiences in craft villages, tourist spots, and traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in My Duc and Chuong My districts, as well as other nearby areas.
In March, the department will also strengthen collaboration with provinces and cities to develop cultural and spiritual tourism routes, such as Hanoi – Ha Nam – Ninh Binh, Hanoi – Son La, and Hanoi – Lao Cai – Lai Chau, among others.
