Speaking at the conference, Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India in HCMC, stated that India is a major market for Vietnam, with numerous potential products and a large middle class that accounts for around 30% of the population. Furthermore, India has over 40 large cities with populations of over one million people and is fast developing in many aspects. Agriculture, textiles, tourism, and information technology are areas that the two countries have a lot of promise. This is an opportunity for Indian firms to work with Lam Dong province in particular, as well as other provinces in the region as a whole.

“I hope that companies from both sides exchange ideas and learn about business and cooperation on common issues. Simultaneously, we welcome agricultural product enterprises from Lam Dong province to visit India to seek investment and business opportunities with Indian partners. In the near future, the Consulate General of India will continue to collaborate to arrange trade, investment, tourist, and cultural exchange promotion events,” emphasized Madan Mohan Sethi.

According to Pham S, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee, in terms of trade cooperation, several significant Lam Dong province items worth tens of millions of dollars have been exported to the Indian market in recent years. However, the scope of cooperation is insufficient in comparison to the available potential and benefits.

This conference aims to formalize strategies to strengthen bilateral trade, economic, and investment links between India and the Central Highlands provinces, especially Lam Dong. This is an opportunity for Central Highlands companies and Indian businesses to enhance agricultural product exports, connect commerce, expand markets, and develop tourism.
