Celebrating Strengthening of Vietnam-Morocco Diplomatic Relations in Hanoi

Hanoi paid tribute to the strong diplomatic ties between Morocco and Vietnam on the occasion of the anniversary of the enthronement of the King of Morocco.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Vietnam held a reception in Hanoi on July 31 to celebrate the 24th anniversary of the enthronement of King Mohammed VI (July 30, 1999-2023) and the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Morocco (March 27, 1961-2023).


The ceremony was attended by Moroccan Ambassador to Vietnam Jamale Chouaibi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Ha Kim Ngoc, Nguyen Phuong Nga, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), Saadi Salama, Ambassador of the State of Palestine and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, as well as ambassadors and representatives of international organizations.

In his opening speech, Ambassador Jamale Chouaibi emphasized that under the wise leadership of King Mohammed VI, Morocco has achieved significant accomplishments in many fields, contributing to the development and prosperity of the country.


Ambassador Chouaibi welcomed the positive and continuous development of political, economic, and social cooperation between Morocco and Vietnam in recent years. He affirmed that Morocco always attaches great importance and gives high priority to promoting cooperation with ASEAN member states, especially with Vietnam.


Deputy Minister Ha Kim Ngoc, on behalf of the Foreign Ministry, sent warmest congratulations to all Moroccan friends on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the enthronement of King Mohammed VI and the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Morocco.

Deputy Foreign Minister stated that the 56th ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting held last month agreed in principle to Morocco’s proposal to become a sectoral dialogue partner of ASEAN. Vietnam and ASEAN members look forward to Morocco’s cooperation with ASEAN in the future to be promoted on the basis of equality, mutual benefit, respect for international law, and active contributions to the country’s efforts in addressing global challenges.


He expressed his belief that with the great potential, political determination of the senior leaders, and support of the people of the two countries, the multifaceted cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Morocco will be continuously consolidated and developed in the future for the development of each country and for peace and stability in the two regions.
