Mở cửa hàng mẫu dịch số 37
“The restaurant’s name, ‘Cua hang mau dich’, pays homage to a significant period in Vietnam’s history, specifically the era of subsidy from 1975-1986. During this time, locals could only buy and sell goods in designated stores or ‘mau dich’. The state controlled the distribution of goods through a stamp system, prohibiting the free trading of goods in the market. Additionally, transporting goods from one location to another was strictly prohibited.”
The restaurant is thoughtfully designed and draws inspiration from the historic subsidy period. Our guests can immerse themselves in the nostalgic atmosphere of old Hanoi.
In order to offer patrons an unparalleled authentic dining experience, the owner of our establishment has meticulously curated a collection of 40-50-year-old artifacts for display. These items harken back to the subsidy period and include unique treasures such as soup ladles crafted from bullet casings, traditional earthen pots, and porcelain bowls of yesteryear.
