This year’s fair is open to the public from June 21-25. With the theme “Algeria: Visions and New Prospects,” the 54th FIA featured nearly 640 exhibitors, including 165 foreign companies from 30 countries. This year, Italy is the fair’s guest of honor.
Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and many high-ranking officials of the country cut the ribbon to launch the fair on June 20. With a total exhibition area of nearly 25,000 m2, FIA is the largest annual international exhibition in Algeria. It brings together businesses in almost all fields from agriculture, industry, services, construction, electronics, mechanics, and national security.

At this year’s fair, the Vietnam booth displayed catalogs and products of more than 30 businesses in agricultural products, food, seafood, footwear, textiles, furniture, plastic products, construction materials, machinery, equipment, and mechanical products. The showcased goods received high appreciation from visitors.
On the first day of opening, the Vietnam booth welcomed hundreds of business representatives from Algeria and other countries. Most visitors were impressed with Vietnam’s signature products such as coffee, pepper, cashew, copra, seafood, and traditional crafts, and expressed their interest in establishing business partnerships with Vietnamese exporters.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Tran Quoc Khanh assessed this fair as an excellent opportunity to promote and introduce the image, country, people, and culture of Vietnam. The participation of Vietnamese businesses at the fair highlights Vietnam’s dynamism, openness, friendliness, and positivity towards international friends, especially in Africa, home to many of the country’s traditional friends.

Besides introducing familiar agricultural products, Vietnam also showcased some Halal-certified products from Binh Phuoc, Vinh Long, and many other localities.
In addition to the main Vietnam booth in the national pavilion, another booth was set up by Hien Import-Export Co., Ltd., which specializes in selling Vietnamese handicrafts in Algiers. The owner, Nguyen Thi Thanh Hien, said that her company has been participating in fairs in major provinces of Algeria since 2005. According to Hien, Vietnamese handicrafts are highly sought after by customers in this country.
According to the VNA reporter, in previous exhibitions, many Vietnamese products such as handicrafts and food received high appreciation from visitors, who returned to this year’s fair to make purchases.
