14 Vietnamese Scientists Ranked on Global List

On September 1, the website Research.com released its rankings of world scientists with noteworthy achievements in scientific publications in 2023 - with 14 Vietnamese scientists making the list.

The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering discipline saw the presence of five Vietnamese scientists: Nguyen Van Hung and Phung Van Phuc from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Thai Hoang Chien from Ton Duc Thang University, Nguyen Thoi Trung from Van Lang University, and Bui Quoc Tinh from Duy Tan University.

In the field of Engineering and Technology, Professor Nguyen Dinh Duc from Viet Nam National University, Ha Noi (VNU-Ha Noi) was recognized.

Pham Hung Viet and Tu Binh Minh from VNU-Ha Noi, along with Tran Nguyen Hai from Duy Tan University, were among the top scientists in Environmental Sciences.

Hoang Nhat Duc from Duy Tan University and Le Hoang Son from VNU-Ha Noi were recognized in the field of Computer Science.

Nguyen Van Hieu from Phenikaa Viet Nam University was named in the Materials Science discipline.

Hoang Van Minh from Ha Noi University was listed among the best scientists in the Social Sciences and Humanities discipline. Tran Xuan Bach from Ha Noi Medical University was named in the medical field.

According to this ranking, Viet Nam is recognized in 6 areas of expertise: Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Materials Science, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and Community Medicine.

The inclusion of Vietnamese scientists in this ranking demonstrates the efforts and continuous integration of the country’s scientific community.

Research.com’s ranking method is based on the scientist’s D-index, which includes the H-index and the number of articles in the IEEE, ACL, Springer, AAAI, USENIX, Elsevier, ACM, and LIPIcs databases.

This ranking of the world’s best scientists evaluated 166,880 profiles on Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Graph, and it was divided into 24 disciplines.
