According to the Cuban News Agency, Vietnam has been selected as the guest of honor for the 29th Havana International Book Fair (Feria Internacional del Libro de La Habana in Spanish). This prestigious event is a highly anticipated annual gathering in the Caribbean.

“The establishment of an Asian country in the esteemed Cuban capital, marking its recent celebration of five centuries since its foundation, is a testament to the profound and enduring relations between this nation and Cuba. These relations, which have flourished for nearly six decades, encompass various spheres of society and culture, characterized by unwavering cooperation, brotherhood, and solidarity.” – Cuban News Agency

The upcoming event, scheduled to take place from February 6 to 16, aims to provide the Cuban community with an enriching experience in Vietnamese literature, as well as a deeper understanding of the unique culture and traditions of this vibrant Southeast Asian nation.

This event offers a valuable opportunity for publishing houses from Cuba and Vietnam to come together, exchange ideas, and explore potential collaboration opportunities.

The Havana International Book Fair was initially established in 1982 as a semiannual event, and since 2000, it has been held annually. This prestigious gathering witnesses the active involvement of numerous publishing houses from across the globe. Apart from the prominent book exhibition, the fair encompasses a diverse range of activities, including film showcases, visual art exhibitions, musical performances, and literary discussions, encompassing various genres and historical themes.
