A beer restaurant in Tu Hiep commune of Thanh Tri district in Hanoi has been locked down following the detection of an individual suspected of testing positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) after travelling to the capital from Hai Duong.
The patient suspected of being positive for the COVID-19 is a 63-year-old man of the northern province of Hai Duong. The case is linked to the Loc Vung beer restaurant in Thanh Tri district of Hanoi and has been in lockdown since the night of August 11.
The patient started to display symptoms such as a persistent cough and tiredness on July 31. He then had his health checked at the 108 Hospital in Hanoi on August 8 before returning to his daughter’s house which is located at the Loc Vung beer restaurant in Thanh Tri district of the capital.
He was initially admitted to Thanh Nhan hospital on August 9 after being diagnosed with a lung disease before testing negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus on August 10. However, a day later his sample was taken again, this time coming back positive for COVID-19.
The Hanoi Department of Health issues an urgent notification for all people who attended the Loc Vung beer restaurant to contact healthcare agencies for consultation and support through the hotlines 0969.082.115 and 0949.396.115.
The two-storey Loc Vung beer restaurant is forced to close following the detection of the suspected positive COVID-19 case.
Security forces are on duty to protect the area and ensure it remains in lockdown.
Local people must now limit their travel through the area after a suspected positive COVID-19 case is detected.
