Group B sees Vietnam pitted against Myanmar, Brunei, and Cambodia.

Vietnam’s opening match is against Brunei on June 22, followed by encounters with Cambodia and Myanmar on June 25 and June 28, respectively.

A total of 12 teams are participating in the tournament. The group winners and the best runner- will advance to the semifinals, with the final scheduled for July 4.

Coached by Tran Minh Chien, Vietnam is expected to make a strong showing in this regional tournament.

In 2022, Vietnam finished as runner-up, losing to Indonesia 1-0 in the final. They are determined to go one better this year.

The ASEAN U16 Boys’ Championship is an annual event, bringing together the best young footballing talent from across Southeast Asia, with occasional guests from further afield.

The tournament has been held since 2002, with a brief hiatus before resuming in 2005. Vietnam has an impressive record, lifting the trophy in 2006, 2010, and 2017.
