Indonesian President greeted with 21-gun salute in Hanoi
Indonesian President Joko Widodo received a grand welcome ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on January 12, hosted by State President Vo Van Thuong. The event was marked by a magnificent 21-gun salute, honoring the esteemed guest.
This is the second time Indonesian President Widodo has visited Vietnam on a state visit. The first visit took place in September 2018.

Since its establishment on December 30, 1955, bilateral relations and multifaceted cooperation between both sides have been nurtured and developed by generations of leaders and peoples of the two countries. In 2013, bilateral relations reached new heights as the two sides established a strategic partnership.
Immediately after the official welcome ceremony held at the Presidential Palace, the two State leaders hold talks on measures aimed at further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries which were elevated to new heights in 2013.
In Southeast Asia, Indonesia is currently Vietnam’s third-largest trading partner, while the country makes up Indonesia’s fourth-largest trading partner.
The visit is expected to further contribute to tightening the traditional friendship between the two nations, which has been nurtured and developed for nearly seven decades.
Earlier on the same day, Indonesian President Joko Widodo pays floral tribute to President Ho Chi Minh.

He also lays wreaths at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs.
A buffalo painting contest for the Doi Son Tich Dien (ploughing) Festivalwas held on February 10, or the sixth day of the Lunar New Year in Doi Son commune, Duy Tien district, the northern province of Ha Nam.
The 2018 sea festival of Sam Son city of the north central coastal province of Thanh Hoa will take place on April 21, heard a press conference held in the city on April 12.
The Ha Long Carnival, a highlight of the Ha Long – Quang Ninh tourism week 2019, opened in Bai Chay and Hon Gai tourism area in the northern province of Quang Ninh on April 28.
