Residents of the region awoke to a breathtaking sight as frost blanketed areas above 2,600 meters, transforming the landscape into a winter wonderland with grass and tree branches draped in pristine white.
Visitors and local guides have captured the awe-inspiring beauty of frost-encrusted branches and grass. The familiar trekking paths through forest canopies and low grasslands now exude an enchanting, magical aura beneath a shimmering layer of ice.
This marks the second frost event in Lao Cai this winter season. Previously, on November 19, a powerful cold front brought frost to the road leading to TĆ  Xua Peak in Hanh Phuc commune.
With La NiƱa currently active and potentially persisting throughout the winter, several cold spells are expected, bringing the possibility of snow, frost, or hoarfrost across a broad area, particularly in mountainous regions.
As December approaches, frost is expected to become a more frequent occurrence on mountain peaks above 3,000 meters, including the Ba Vi mountains near Hanoi, where snow has been recorded in the past.
